Are you ready for this? The Creator of our huge universe is pursuing you! The truth is, God is desperately in love with you. He wants to have a relationship with you forever.
The biggest problem that gets in the way of this relationship is that God, by His very nature, is holy, just and perfect. We do have a lot of potential to be good and do good things, but by our very nature, we are everything that God isn't. Unfortunately, no matter what we do, we can't make up for this shortfall of sin and imperfection by good deeds or self-improvement. So, do you see the problem? How is it that these two very extreme opposites can co-exist or at the very least be in a love relationship? Well, that's how much God loves us -- He found a way. His desire to have that relationship with us is so great that He was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice of love - His own Son, Jesus Christ. Not only did Jesus live a life without any sin at all, but he took all of the sin that had taken place in the world up to that moment in time, AND he took all of the sin that would EVER happen in the future and put it all on himself as He died on the cross. Why? Like I said, He's desperate to have a real relationship with you. Here's what the bible says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV - John 3:16) No relationship is built without trust and Jesus asks that we first trust Him. Trust that He is who He says He is. Trust that He can do what He says He can do. Just click on the "Yes, I want to pray" button to the right and say the prayer. Once you have done that, and if you really and truly meant what you said, then it's done. That's it. You are really forgiven and it's a done deal for life - that's His promise. Talk to a believer and tell them about your decision. Pick up a bible and read the book of John in the New Testament. If you don't understand everything you read, don't worry. Just remember the parts you do understand and do them. |
